Patronizing behavior can cause a relationship to be unhealthy or even cause it to end.

Signs Youre Dealing With a Patronizing Partner

Patronizing behavior can range from subtle to in your face.

It can also be hard to determine from inside a relationship.

They Interrupt You

Everyone is guilty ofinterrupting their partneroccasionally with an eager thought or story.

If a recent time doesnt come to mind, theyre likely patronizing.

Maybe youre planning a trip to a city you used to live in.

This an extreme example, but one that shows the core of many issues on a larger scale.

They Assume Theres a Lot You Dont Know

Your partner doesnt know everything about you.

No one knowseverything, but they shouldnt assume you know nothing.

Its not hard to kindly ask, Do you know about X?

or trust youll speak up if youre unsure about something.

Its not great when they act like youre stupid for not knowing it in the first place.

They arent better than you because they know how to clean the oven.

This places the shift on you getting what you need versus them changing something theyve done wrong.
