Be supportive, offer a shoulder to lean on, or give them space if they need it.

If you might, surprise them with something they like or do something thoughtful to cheer them up.

Hopefully the thunderclouds will pass soon!

Give them your full attention and show them you care about what theyre feeling.

Its often thelittle thingsthat go a long way!

Shifting their focus away from whats bothering them may help lift their spirits.

(Unless youre having afight, which is different!)

However, this is often the opposite of helpful to the other person.

Going into fix it mode protects us from feelings of helplessness and makes us feel like were in control.

(Oh dont worry about that, its so silly!)

Instead, listen to what theyre saying and empathize with their feelings.

Validate their stance and show them that their concerns matter to you, so they feel seen and heard.

Instead, stay calm and give them the time andspacethey need to work it out.

Dont Make It About You

Dont make the situation about you.

Focus on your partner’s feelings and needs instead of feeling neglected orrejected.

Once your partners mood lifts, theyll appreciate your patience and understanding.

Keep in Mind

Remember, your partner’s bad mood is a temporary challenge.

Weather the storm by putting their needs first.

A littlepatience, love, and understanding will go a long way.

All they need to know is that youre on their team no matter what.
